Blog

Our mission is to spread the Victorious News (a.k.a., the Gospel) of Jesus Christ our Savior.  We hope that this blog will be uplifting to you, ministering to your heart as we share things that God has laid on our hearts.

Favorite Psalms 87 1,2&6,7

His foundation is in the holy mountains.2.The Lord loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.  Do we seek the gates of Zion? That needs to be the goal of all.

6.The Lord shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there.Amen   The reborn in christ will be in that count. It is a wonderful and glorious feeling knowing that is one count we look forward to when we reach the gates.

7.As well the singers as the players on instruments shall be there: all my springs are in thee.

Does the joyful noise you make unto the Lord come from the heart? It should, cause all things need to honor God. If it is from the heart, this center of the soul of the Holy Spirit,..calling unto God and praising him, thanking him, abiding in him for all the many blessing he has blessed us with, glory unto God.

This passage just fills me with joy everytime I read it,and just wanted to share it with all.

The Gospel is not just Good News, but Victorious News

You've probably heard that the word "Gospel" means "Good News".  If you read R.C. Sproul's Proto-Gospel, you'll hear that the Greek word for "gospel" (euaggelion <2098>) was used before Christ's Incarnation (birth on Earth in human form) to describe the news that runners would give when their side won a battle or war.  The Greek word for "evangelize" (euaggelizo <2097>) shares the same root as the word for "Gospel" and simply means to "bring good news" or "share victorious news".

Keep that in mind when reading about the Armor of God in Ephesians 6:10-17, where it says, "as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace" (ESV).  The idea here is that you put on your running shoes before going into battle, not so that you can flee from battle (notice it says to "stand firm" three times in this passage), but in preparation to spread the victorious news!  1 Corinthians 15:57 says, "Thanks be to God, who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."  (ESV)

The victorious news of peace isn't just the victory Christ has given us in a battle against Satan and his minions [Ephesians 6:12] or against our own fleshly desires [1 Peter 2:11], but also the victory that Christ has over sin and death that will bring peace to all who put their trust in Him!  It is an encouragement to keep fighting the good fight of faith [1 Timothy 6:12] because Christ has given the victory in the battle and the war.

This is the victorious news:  Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, was raised on the third day, and now we have a living hope through His resurrection from the dead to a perfect inheritance.  [1 Corinthians 15:1-8, 1 Peter 1:3-5]  This "living hope" is the one which we are to give reason for when anyone asks. [1 Peter 3:15]
